How Clubroom Works

Clubroom Team·2026-06-18·5 min read

Clubroom is built around one idea: coaching preparation should be visual, organised, and collaborative. Here is how the four main features work together.

The Drill Builder

Everything starts on the pitch canvas. You open a new drill, and you see a full-size football pitch — or a section of one, depending on what you are designing.

From there you can:

  • Place players — numbered circles for attackers, shaded for defenders
  • Add cones, balls, and zones — drag to position, resize zones to fit
  • Draw movement arrows — curved paths showing runs, dashed for optional movements
  • Animate the play — step through the sequence so players can visualise the movement before they arrive at the pitch

When your drill is finished, you can share it via a public link. Anyone with the link can view it — no account needed. You can also share it directly with your club.

The Session Planner

A drill is a single exercise. A session is a full training plan.

In the Session Planner, you pull drills from your library into a session, set a duration for each one, and write coaching notes — the key points you want to make at each stage. The finished plan is printable: a clean, formatted document you can bring to the pitch.

This is especially useful when you have assistant coaches running parts of the session. Everyone has the same plan.

The Club Hub

If you coach at a club, you can create a Club workspace and invite your coaching staff.

Inside the club, there is a shared drill library that all coaches can contribute to and use. Permissions are role-based — admins can manage members, coaches can create and edit drills, staff can view.

There is also an activity feed showing what has been created and shared recently, and a leaderboard for drill contributions (useful for clubs running structured development programmes).

The AI Assistant

The AI panel lets you describe what you want and get a drill or session plan back instantly.

Type something like: "A pressing drill for eight players, focused on coordinated press triggers, 15 minutes" — and the AI generates a drill with a setup description and coaching points. You can then open it in the drill builder, edit the layout, and save it to your library.

It is not a replacement for knowing your game. It is a starting point that saves fifteen minutes of staring at a blank canvas.

Getting Started

The free plan gives you three drills — enough to test the builder and see if Clubroom fits your workflow. Most coaches who try it move to Pro within a week.
